My dear Henry

I should be very glad to hear how you all do Mrs Talbot I suppose is come home now and little Ela – When do you expect Aunt Lily and what account have you last had of Caroline I am very anxious to know how & where they are now – I went up to the garden to-day on purpose to see if there was anything worthy of being reported to you – but could observe nothing but the Passiflora Bonapartea which is now very handsome – I wish you would send us some orchises if it is the right time –

We saw the comet a week ago very well & have since had such cloudy nights that we could see nothing – Last night was fine but the comet has walked on and we stupidly cannot see where it is gone to pray tell me where to look now – Give my love to Mrs Talbot I hope she is all the stronger for her sojourn at Cowes

Your affectionate cousin

Charlotte Traherne
