I think your servant must slightly have misled you about the "accommodation" at Hal[sent?] I know that on more than one occasion, during my Fathers’ residence there 24 people slept in the house – and the only furniture required in the drawing room are a few mantlepiece ornaments which I fancy my sisters took away Carriages of any description are kept within two miles of the house.
