The water pipe on your field No 5 Laycock being now covered by the Embankment it will be necessary to direct it slightly and to build a 1½” culvert to convey the water under the Railway Emb^t

As your field will be left primarily as we found it, with wheat to water and your absence from Laycock must delay your reply, I have thought it better to proceed at once with the culvert – trusting that in a matter so very viable there can be no dif-ference of opinion between us – send an explanatory sketch.

I hope you will have received the bridge elevations – awaiting your reply as to them. I have the honor to remain
