H. F. Talbot Esqr

Sir,

For your polite attention to my note of the 13th inst I beg to offer you my best thanks, and to reassure you that I shall feel proud to assist you in any way I can in the great work you have in hand.

Since I have been in the business for myself I have been engaged in portraiture, and copying works of art; and consequently have no negatives of my own suitable for your purpose; but I have the promise of some others and should the light be at all favourable I shall have some transparent positives for your inspection when you come to town – Again thanking you for your polite attention,

I have the honour to remain

Sir

your Obedt Servt

John Watson
