My dear Sir,
I have long intended to write you on a subject that has probably escaped your recollection. –
I found in an iron chest two medals with your name on them – As I apprehend that you wished them deposited in our custody I have not disturbed them, but I should like your sanction to show them to visitors, as we have no specimen of the medals excepting these, and they are interesting to those who visit our apartments
Will you kindly favor me at your leisure with a few lines conveying your wishes on the subject –
Believe me, my dear Sir, yours most sincerely
