Lacock Abbey
March 18th
Sir
I beg to send you a list of the plants in flower in the houses Many of them are very fine I was glad to receive your letter with an order for the new Tank I have given your order to Mr Andrews and he have promised to have it ready for fixing in a fortnight and it will take about three days to fix it if we find the boiler all right if it should be faulty I will let you Know, I do not Want to keep the plants out of the Stove no longer then I can help as the bottom heat is good for them now they are growing Mr Andrews tells me that his boilers do not <ill.del.> require half the fuel to keep the heat up as the Old one s does as they are made upon a better princeable and the fire once made will keep in for 24 hours in that case it would be a great save of fuel and time We have the weather very cold hear the Snow have been on the ground for the last week past and to day we have a deep Snow and we have from 10 to 12 Degrees of frost which is very bad for March and will do much harm after the mild weather we had in last month I am glad you liked the flowers I sent you,
I beg to remain Sir your Obedt Servant
Geo Wilkins
