Dummer House
Ap. 12 / 55
Dear Sir,
I beg to enclose you Charles’ A/c, and I must sincerely express my regret at parting with him, and also my thanks to yourself and Mrs Talbot for the kind confidence you have placed in us in leaving him in our charge for so many years – It has been a great pleasure to me to watch his gradual improvement in character and disposition, and I hope that now he may be able to make his own way at Harrow without any greater drawback than all boys must feel at first starting in a Public School.
With regard to <Arsows?>, tho’ his illness during the winter had rather checked him I hope that he will take a good place, and he has so much steady perseverance in his work, that I feel very sanguine as to his keeping up to it whenever he is.
Mrs Williams desires to thank Mrs Talbot for her role, and I remain Dear Sir, Yours <Truly?> & obliged
James A. Williams
