Treasury
19th March 1833
Dear Sir
Mr Rice <1> has put into my hands Your note to him, in which You express your wish to get a Clerkship for a Young Man in one of the Government Offices. The Reductions of all the Establishments have left us very few Appointments of this description to dispense of, and we have a long List of Candidates But if You will send me the name of your friend I will with pleasure note it on our List, for consideration at a favourable opportunity.
Your’s vy truly
Charles Wood
