Sir,

I have to acknowledge the receipt of your note <1> of the 21st inst on the subject of the draught of a licence from yourself to Mr Claudet. <2>

Such a document was sent to me a few days since, but not having received full instructions from Mr Claudet I waited two or three days in the expectation that I should do so, & then sent through his partner a communication to him on the subject.

I shall be writing to him today on other matters & will mention this at the same time
