My dear Sir

John Traherne <1> will come to spend a Week with me on Thursday se’nnight, & as your pursuits are nearly similar I hope that you will meet him – I am afraid that till then I shall not have any very good Bed to offer you, but if you are fond of either Hunting or Shooting & will rough it I shall be very happy to see you with Mr Talbot <2> on Monday.

Pray tell Mr T. that I would have gone for three hours without a pinch of snuff for the pleasure which yesterdays Paper afforded me, & that I heartily congratulate him on his Oxford Honours. <3>

With best regards & wishing a merry Xmas to all at Penrice <4>

I am
Very truly Yrs
