My Dear Sir
I am sorry to say that the plants came in sad condition. The weather was so dry & the paper in which they were packed so thin that they are quite shrinked. I have been coaxing the Dianthus <1> with all possible care, & I hope to recover it: but as for the others all I can tell you is that the Lysimachia is L. dubia, & the Composite plant without any ray, & with large downy heads Conyza <2> chilensis.
Yours faithfully
John Lindley
