The Glass with ruled lines you alude [sic] to in yours of the 24th has not been successful it is impossible to get a ground on such a large piece by means of heat. I have lost a large amount of time and material trying to get it done for you but to no purpose

However I will try some experiments with the ground in solution if you will give me authority to proceed, and can give time for it.
