Dear Sir

I did not receive your note on Saturday until after you had called Your note of the evening<2> I did not receive until too late to answer either by post or otherwise. The necessity of an answer was in a great measure obviated by a note I wrote you in the morning<3> & which you had not probably received when you wrote.

I have instructed my solicitor and he is drawing up the agreement which will be ready for my inspection tomorrow. If all right he will put it immediately into the hands of your solicitor for your consideration. Please send me the address of your solicitor – mine is Mr Dean of the firm of Dean Leeks & Dixon St Swithin’s Lane. <4>
