1 furnace in blast, the metal is run twice a day at 5 A.M. & 5 P.M Each time about <illegible deletion> 10 tons, 7 days in a week – makes 140 tons per week – They hope, with 2 furnaces to reach 300 tons per week say 15,000 per ann.
Ore raised by contract & delivered at 1s?ּ0d ½ p. ton? at the furnace. 2 tons 15 cwt of ore required to give 1 ton of iron. 1 ton of Welsh Coke + 8 cwt of welsh coal required to give 1 ton of iron. Propose to employ all coke & no coal. Welsh coal comes in ship direct, without transhipmt at Bristol. Costs 14s per ton at the works? Limestone fm St Vincents Rocks Clifton costs 6s per ton? Seend limestone not yet tried. Somersetshire coal not yet tried, cost wd be about the same as welsh.
