1 Great Dean’s Yard Westminster
June 24/59
Dear Sir,
I have just received your letter here, and in reply to it I have much pleasure in saying that I have a vacancy in my house, so as to be able to receive your son as a pupil at the time you name – My terms are 150£ a year: or for a short period at the rate of 4£ a week – this includes everything, except washing – I have now with me 2 other pupils, Including the son of Mr Ross of Netherley– <1>
& I am happy to say that they are all in every respect satisfactory – one of them, together with young Mr Ross, is going to Trinity College at the same time as your son, whom I shall have much pleasure in doing my best, to be able him to take a creditable place in his College. I shall be here until the middle of next week, when I return to Whorlton for a few days, after which my direction will be Greta Bank Keswick for a fortnight or 3 weeks.
I have the honour to Remain, dear Sir, Your’s very truly
