Sir

I am not conscious of having departed from the understood arrangement in any way the whole of the correspondance was handed to Mr Du Pasquier <1> and I am quite sure he would not make unnecessary objections or allow me to depart from any stipulations I had entered into<.> I feel therefore there cannot be any doubt of coming to a right understanding if the meeting I proposed <2> takes place.

My calling upon you at Lacock has led me into a subject which entirely belongs to Mr Pretch <3> and should our present negociation terminate without coming to a conclusion I must leave the matter in Mr Pretches hands

I remain Sir Your Obedient Servt
J. Hogarth
